ANNOUNCEMENTS!

June 8th, 2021

St. Luke Lutheran Church Members,

On Sunday, June 13th, 2021 following the 9:30 am service, a special Congregational Meeting will be held to elect a Pastor for St. Luke to serve our congregation. A representative of the Office of the Bishop, New England Synod, will preside at this meeting. The agenda is here.

The candidate being recommended by the Congregation Council will lead the Worship Service, teach the children’s message and preach. Following the service, the special meeting will be held during which a congregational vote on the candidate will take place by paper ballot. Time for questions will be provided. A two-thirds majority is required for the election of the Pastor, and no absentee ballots are permitted. There will also be a vote on the recommended compensation package for the Pastor, which may be decided by voice or hand vote, and requires a simple majority. The Compensation package is enclosed here. No other items of business may be conducted at this meeting.

A Meet and Greet is scheduled from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday, June 12th, 2021. A one page biography will be available at the reception.

Assuming the Special Congregational meeting results in approval of our candidate, here is a planned timeline of the arrival of our Pastor.

- July 19, 2021 – Official start date

- July 19 – July 28 – Moving/Relocating

- July 29 – August 1 – Presiding over a previously scheduled wedding in Texas

- August 2 – On board

- August 8 – First of many sermons at St Luke
