Faith Development

Faith is a journey.  At St. Luke we believe everyone is on a unique walk with Christ.  Sunday service is a great place to start connecting with our Lord.  To supplement and deepen that relationship, we encourage you to participate in a Faith Development opportunity.  New groups are welcome and encouraged.  Speak with Pastor Danny if you have an idea to inspire Faith Development at St. Luke.

  • Pastor's Bible Study

    Mondays, 7 p.m.

Pastor Danny leads a Monday evening Bible Study open to all. The current topic is Paul's Letter to the Romans. Drop in any Monday, even if you haven't been to previous studies.

  • Wednesday Morning Bible Study

    Wednesdays, 10:30-11:30 am

This group gathers weekly to study the Scripture texts that are the assigned readings for the upcoming Sunday. Through study and conversation, they hope to learn more about God’s Word and its application to their lives as well as to support and encourage one another. It is a lively discussion and is open to all.

  • Confirmation

Confirmation is a tradition in the Lutheran Church.  Beginning in 6th grade, young members who wish to strengthen their understanding of the Bible and Lutheran traditions may choose to begin the confirmation process.  For more information on this special faith commitment, please visit our Confirmation page.

  • Women's Ministry

Women's Ministry takes on a variety of forms at St. Luke. A study, fellowship, or service event is planned each month. A highlight is the twice yearly retreat held at the Sisters of Mercy retreat center in Westerly, RI. Women frequently attend the fall Women's Weekend at Camp Calumet and the Women of Faith Conference in Hartford. The schedule of events can be found in The Scroll, our church newsletter. For more information, call the church office at 860-464-7897.

  • DAILY ONLINE DEVOTIONALS

God Pause devotions are short, meaningful reflections on the following Sunday’s lessons and gospel. By Sunday, you’ll be ready for an extra meaningful worship experience.

D365 (With optional music) - These devotions were written by ministers, professors, students, teachers, missionaries, denominational leaders, and others who work with and care for students. An author typically writes one week of devotions.

In these devotions, you will read honest struggles and questions, all in the context of real faith. As you read the thoughts of the writers, think about your own response to the scripture for the day. Let the writer’s words serve as background for your own conversation with God.
